So I decided to play slowpitch softball this summer. My friend had asked me to play on a team and at first I resisted but ultimately decided to give it a try. I really thought it wouldn’t go too well.
First game was a little disappointing- I couldn’t hit, I wasn’t all that great in the field BUT I did have a good time. Oh and we lost that game…by a lot.
As the season went on I had more and more fun, we started playing better, I started to make some awesome catches in the outfield, my hitting finally came around and we all just clicked as a team.
We ended our season 4-6 and went into the double elimination playoffs where we lost our first game last Wednesday. I thought that was the end for us, but we won our next game which brought us to Friday night. I thought we only had one game- we ended up playing 3… IN A ROW! This was 3 of the best games I’ve ever played in.
The first game we had to win in order to move on to the championship game. This was a quick game, over in less than a hour (quite an accomplishment in slowpitch) I can’t even remember what the score was, but we won.
Next game was against the team that hadn’t lost, so in order to be the champions we had to beat them twice. This game EVERYONE on our team kicked ass, everyone was hitting and our defense was solid. Oh and I hit a homerun off a girl’s head. It was awesome. We mercied them (beat them by more than 10 runs in 5 innings) and moved onto the third game.
In the first inning they scored 7 runs. It wasn’t a good start that’s for sure. By the fifth inning they were leading 13-3. I can’t even give a good account of what happened after that but everyone finally got their hitting going. In the 7th and last inning we were only down 13-12 with bases loaded and 1 out. My girl Sara is up and she SMASHES a hit into deep left center and cleared the bases. WE WON!
So we got this huge trophy and went out to the bar to celebrate. It was AWESOME. I’m so happy that I stuck with it, I would of never imagined this. I made a bunch of new friends and can’t wait for next season!

Ok. I realize I’m a few years behind but I’m totally into the Harry Potter books now. I finished listening to Sorcerer’s Stone this morning and I’m now onto Chamber of Secrets. I’m addicted.
Thanks all of you that kept bugging me to read them.

So I found a new show, Dead Like Me. It was only shown on Showtime for 2 seasons but supposively there’s a straight to dvd movie being filmed right now. The show is awesome, clever, interesting and funny.
The show is about a group of grim reapers whose job it is to take the souls of people right before they die, and escort them until they move on into their afterlife. That summary doesn’t do it justice and all I can really add to it is to just watch it! I watched my first episode last Friday and I’m already on the second season.Besides going to work then plopping myself in front of my tv to watch episodes I’ve been pretty busy. I’ve been hanging out with my 2 cousins the past few weekends and last Saturday I went to the zoo!! I love the zoo.
Softball is going pretty well but I think next week is my last games. Last night we won and I did good, got on base a few times and probably had 4 or 5 RBIs.
Ok, enough blogging for now…I’m off to put music on my friend’s ipod and then who knows what.
Oh and I can’t wait for Bionic Woman. That show looks sweeeeeeet! Plus Katee is in it

Whew, finally a day to sit around and get caught up on some things. I’ve been really busy lately between work, playing slowpitch and spending most weekends with my cousins. I managed to get one freelance job finished… too bad there’s 2 more I haven’t gotten to.
Work is going well, still haven’t gotten the CMS working yet so I haven’t been doing too much. I’m really itching to do something fun. There’s only so long you can stretch doing some work just so you have something to keep you busy.
Yeah you read right, I’m playing slowpitch softball- the one sport I swore to NEVER play. I don’t really enjoy it as much as fastpitch but its the only thing that people my age can play. I’m not doing too bad, but maaaaaaan that ball is pitched slow. Teammates are real fun though.
I’m spending a lot of my summer with my cousins and loving it. My cousin, aunt and uncle from Seattle have been visiting this week. My aunt and uncle go back on Wednesday while my cousin stays for another 3 weeks. I haven’t seen him in a few years but he is a very cool kid. He reminds me a lot of my brother when he was that age. I’ve spent a few nights at another cousin’s house, she’s pretty cool too…even though she beats me in everything we play
Another cousin of mine (one of the few that is older than me) had a lil baby girl a few months ago and yesterday she was actually awake while I was around. She’s a cutie.
Today, while freelancing I watched the Princess Diana tribute live on VH1. It was supposed to be happy and celebratory but a few times I found myself tearing up. Such a good woman taken way too early. Great concert though.
Ok enough blogging for me…perhaps I will try to do this more often. No promises though!

So I’ve been home a day. I really, really want to go back. I miss it lots. But can’t wait to go back next year!
As promised, here’s some more pictures:

Here’s the front of the house we rented this year, I guess I didn’t take one of the back (which is so much more interesting)

The Jeep Sahara Unlimited 4×4 I rented…maaaaaaaan I loved that thing

The Jeep out in the sand.

Little Sandpiper, these things are so fun to watch.

Some Pelicans flying around

This stingray showed up on the beach on Saturday morning.

This poor raccoon was stuck in our trashcan all week. I’d hear him banging around at night but I thought it was the wind. Finally on Saturday I told my uncle and who opened the can and there he was! Don’t feel too bad, he had some lobster in there to eat.

Saturday’s (my last day there) Sunrise
